Collection: Holistic Balance ADHD (ages 4-21)

Children (ages 4-21) with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (short for 'ADHD') often experience their emotions more intensely than their peers. They experience more strong sensations of frustration, 'rage' (or anger) and hurt. And sometimes they can seem insensitive or unaware of the emotions of others.

This is because their brain connectivity networks which carry information related to emotion seem to be somewhat more limited.

They don’t suffer from a lack of awareness of important emotions but from an inability to tolerate those emotions enough to deal with them effectively. They become caught up in behaviour patterns to avoid painful emotions that seem too overwhelming, such as looming deadlines or meeting new people.

The child or adolescent's emotional response may be due to 'flooding'-a momentary emotion that can fill up his/her/their head very fast like a rain cloud filled with too much water. This focus on one emotion crowds out all other important information that might help the child or adolescent to take control of their emotion and regulate their behaviour.

Holistic Balance ADHD

The Body-Brain Balance as the name suggests is a holistic workshop that helps children and adolescents to understand and manage their ADHD symptoms. The workshop engages the body and brain in such a way to help improve the way both brain and body work, which has shown to lead to improvements in how we feel and function in our daily lives.

How Can Holistic Balance ADHD Help Kids & Adolescents with ADHD?

The workshop is personalised and holistic in nature that engages the body and brain to address aspects of the child's daily functioning, including emotional, social and behavioral issues. The workshop combines physical, sensorimotor and cognitive exercises to help build inner awareness and resilience.

The workshop does not prescribe medication and works with both diagnosable and non-diagnosable ADHD.

Parents Reported Significant Improvements Including:

  • 53% improvement in child’s feelings of happiness
  • 49% improvement in feelings of anxiety
  • 53% improvement in child’s motivation and academic follow-through
  • 51% improvement in school performance and test scores

More efficient information pathways in the brain can lead to improvements in cognitive tasks (focus, memory, learning, comprehension, reasoning) and executive functioning (behaviors, emotions, organization, self-motivation and problem solving).

The holistic approach can help provide you with a renewed sense of optimism for your child’s short-term and long-term success.
