Collection: Anger Management for Moms

Being a mother is hard work. Whether it is your first time or your 20th time, you are the main caretaker of your child. This means dealing with the often unpredictable nature of raising a child-from the physical demands to the emotional ones- and whilst balancing other duties. And sometimes you will loose it and yell at your child or come to physically hurting them, and sometimes more than once throughout the day.

While you are allowed to feel angry or to be upset (the world isn't made for moms, sadly), and as often as you like, research shows that the more often we repeat an act, behave a certain way, or continuously feel an emotion, the more likely we make it a habit or it becomes a part of us, and it affects other people, especially the people closest to us like our children. In other words, your anger can become a bad habit. The anger can be compounded if you belong to a culture that sees physical acts of anger as being normal. The consequences on a child's development is deleterious in both the short and longterm as well, including anger and anxiety issues.

Common advice such as putting your child in a time out or counting to 10 will often not work because children will catch on, and they often do very quickly. He/she will actually cry even more which will only make you more anxious and angry, and lead you down the rabbit hole of a predictable cycle--yelling out of control, saying things you will regret, and then feeling guilt and shame before finally apologising for all that transpired. This can possibly lead you further to feeling trapped in an angry mood all day if it is not resolved.

This workshop will provide:

-analyse the brain science behind anger

-assess your anger
