Child Therapy

Sometimes our children need more help with their emotions. Therapy is an effective solution.

With 10+ years of working internationally with children from African, Asian and American backgrounds with ADHD and trauma related challenges (i.e. divorce, relocation and war), Drs. van den Brink-El Makkaoui can provide an empathetic listening ear along with effective and fun, holistic body, mind and spirit remedies that uses art, tapping and others, to help children unpack, understand and move forwards with confidence with their challenges.

  • That was really cool!

I really liked what [Drs. van den Brink-El Makkaoui) Amelie did with my head today! It was so cool! I felt these tingles, like little legs walking on my head, it was really cool! It's always fun with her!

  • Going back for refreshers and getting more tips to help myself and my children!

As a parent of two children-a 4 year old and a 7 year old- I struggle with my emotions and that of my children on a daily basis. They are very active and can be difficult to handle, especially during bath and feeding time. Since I am a FTM (Full Time Mom) I decided to take an emotional intelligence workshop for myself, the 'Parents Circle' package. Over two weeks I was guided by Amelie to understand emotions, my own emotions and given concrete steps to help me during those difficult times which made the experience more personal. I also learnt about the importance of taking time out for myself. Overall, even though I have much to practice, I feel more confident to handle my children. I will be going back for refreshers and getting more tips to help myself and my children!

  • Pleasantly surprised and informed

As someone who just recently launched her own small business I was struggling with building rapport with my team and imposter syndrome. I knew I had to reach out to someone for guidance and create value. When I reached out to Drs. van den Brink-El Makkaoui she right away brainstormed with me to make her workshop tailor fit for my needs. And she delivered! She helped me to strengthen the people-side of performance by integrating emotional intelligence everywhere in my company. Was really pleasantly surprised and informed!

  • Drs. van den Brink-El Makkaoui understood me faster than I understood myself!

I have been struggling with anger issues all my life. As a child I remember having more tantrums than I can count. And now as an adult doing my Masters in Mass Communications at University here in The Netherlands, I thought it was high time I dealt with my anger. When I took the Individualised Student Central package I wasn't sure what to expect. But the first two weeks were intense where Amelie made me really dig deep to understand my anger emotion, including where it came from, and come up with solutions that would work for me. I felt like she knew me better than I knew myself! It was truly a wonderful experience and I am seeing progress in myself. I highly recommend her openness, quick response to my emails and general optimism! Thank you Drs. van den Brink-El Makkaoui! -Erik Erikson, University Student
